Connecting a Threads channel gives Social Media Management access to the channel’s posts, conversations, performance statistics, and related channel data.
Note: The features mentioned in this article are only available to Social Media Management users with a user role of Team Leader or Admin.
Connecting a Threads channel to Social Media Management
To connect a Threads channel to Social Media Management, you need owner access to the Threads account. If you don’t have access, ask the account owner to help connect it.
In Social Media Management’s left-hand navigation sidebar, click the Manage settings gear icon, then select Channel admin.
Click Connect Channels in the top-right corner.
In the Select Network dialog box, select Threads, then click Continue.
In the pop-up window, choose how you want to connect the Threads account. You can connect the account yourself or invite someone with the required access to connect it for you.
To connect the Threads account yourself, select Connect with Threads.
A new tab opens, where you can enter your Threads login credentials or authenticate with your Instagram account. Use either option to log in to Threads and continue.
The next screen lists the permissions Brandwatch needs to access the Threads account. For the best experience, keep all listed permissions selected to avoid channel connection issues. Then click Continue as [your account name].
After access is granted, your Threads account appears in the pop-up window with a Ready to Connect status.
Select the checkbox next to your account, then click Connect Channels.
Next, choose which teams can access the Threads channel:
Admins only
Specific teams — select the teams from the dropdown menu.
All teams
Note: You must select at least one team when adding a channel. To set up a team in your organization, see the Managing Teams article.
Click Finish to complete the Threads channel connection.
When the connection is complete, the channel appears in your channels list with a Connected status.
Inviting someone else to authenticate their Threads account
If you don’t have login access to the Threads account, you can invite someone who has the required access to connect the account.
To invite someone else to connect the account, select Invite another user to connect during the initial account connection. Social Media Management provides a link that you can copy and share with the account owner so they can complete the authentication process.
