As of August 28, 2026, users may notice changes to their Reddit coverage experience on Brandwatch platforms.
This article describes the new platform experience to expect, including behaviors, workflows, Reddit metadata, metrics, and calculations in Brandwatch Consumer Research (BCR) and Social Media Management (SMM) Listen.
Overview of changes in both BCR and SMM Listen
How will Reddit content coverage change?
Brandwatch will receive comprehensive coverage of publicly available conversations from Reddit.com, processing 400 million posts from Reddit.com per month and 10 million posts and comments from Reddit.com per day. However, please be aware that complete subreddit coverage and ingestion of every post and comment cannot be guaranteed.
How will latency be impacted?
Approximately 89% of content will be received within three hours, 81% of content within two hours, and 55% of content within one hour, with most content arriving within a window of zero to 12 hours. A small percentage of the content may take longer than the rest — up to about 30 hours.
Latency can vary depending on factors such as:
The activity and popularity of the subreddit
How frequently the community is refreshed
The size and depth of the conversation
The time required to process the content
Will there be changes to Reddit Social Panels?
No, Reddit Social Panels will still be available. Reddit.com authors will remain available in Social Panels with no limit on date range.
Will the Reddit logo still be available for dashboards or reports?
No, the Reddit logo is no longer be available in Brandwatch dashboards and reports.
Will Sentiment/Emotion still be available?
Yes, Sentiment/Emotion will still be available.
How will data exports be impacted?
Reddit.com data exports will not be redacted in any way. Any Reddit.com data visible in the Brandwatch platform will be visible in exported data.
How will alerts change?
Reddit.com content will continue to be included in alerts, but subject to the new data latency period.
Changes specific to BCR
Will historical Reddit.com data still be available in BCR?
Historical Reddit.com data will be available for 13 months as of August 28, 2026. Please be aware that the backfill will occur progressively and the full 13 months of historical data will not be available immediately.
Warning: No legacy historical data sourced from Reddit will be available. Users have the ability to save static versions of their dashboards and reports that may include results previously generated using legacy Reddit content.
Can I maintain access to existing Reddit history?
If you need continued access to legacy Reddit history during the transition (ending September 30), you can use a dedicated project approach, allowing both datasets to remain accessible within BCR while keeping them separate.
No legacy historical data sourced from Reddit will be available as of September 30, 2026. Users have the ability to save static versions of dashboards and reports that include results previously generated using legacy Reddit content. This preserves continuity for the monitoring, alerts, dashboards, and reporting you rely on day to day, while a dedicated project can be created for any legacy historical analysis you need to maintain temporarily.
Recommended approach: Keep the new Reddit.com content feed in your existing project(s)
Beginning August 28, your existing project(s) will transition to the new Reddit.com content feed. If you need access to legacy Reddit history, create a dedicated historical project and use BCR's Shared Queries capability to make the relevant queries available there.
Because legacy Reddit history will only remain available through September 30, we recommend recreating only the segmentation, dashboards, or analysis needed for specific historical workflows — for example, an upcoming year-over-year benchmark, campaign comparison, or event analysis.
Alternative approach: Keep legacy Reddit history in your existing project(s)
If maintaining a particularly complex or business-critical historical environment is the higher priority, your existing project(s) can temporarily retain the legacy Reddit dataset. A separate project can then be created for the new Reddit.com content feed using Shared Queries.
Keep in mind that any segmentation, dashboards, alerts, or other project-specific setup required for ongoing monitoring will need to be recreated in the new project.
Which configuration is right for you?
For most customers, we recommend keeping the new Reddit.com content feed in your existing project(s). This minimizes disruption to ongoing monitoring and avoids rebuilding day-to-day workflows in a temporary project.
Keeping legacy project history in an existing project may make sense in select cases where preserving a complex historical reporting environment through September 30 outweighs the effort required to recreate ongoing monitoring elsewhere.
To request either configuration:
Our teams can help you proactively configure this experience ahead of the transition. If maintaining access to both legacy project history and the new Reddit.com content feed is important to your workflows, please let your Brandwatch team know as soon as possible which configuration you prefer. This will allow us to complete the necessary backend setup and help minimize disruption.
Create the additional project(s) in BCR.
Share the relevant queries into the new project(s):
In BCR, navigate to Data > Select your query > Show more options > Manage query sharing > Anyone who has access to selected projects > select your new Reddit.com project > Save.
Contact your Brandwatch team and provide the Project Name(s).
Confirm whether you would like the project(s) to contain legacy Reddit historical data or the new Reddit.com content feed.
Once configured, both projects will be available within your BCR instance. When switching between projects, refresh BCR to ensure the appropriate project is loaded.
What will change in my reporting, dashboards, or alerts in BCR?
The platform experience and workflows remain the same. You can continue to create, view, export, and share reports, dashboards, and alerts in the same way.
Where Reddit previously contributed to a query, dashboard, or report, you may see some changes in output due to your reliance on Reddit.com data or metadata. We recommend checking your query Boolean for needed adjustments if your queries utilized Reddit operators that will no longer be available.
Will I need to rebuild my dashboards, alerts, or saved searches in BCR?
No, you will not need to rebuild dashboards, alerts, or saved searches.
The platform experience and workflows remain the same. Some outputs may vary depending on your use of data from Reddit prior to the transition. We recommend checking your query Boolean for needed adjustments if your queries utilized Reddit operators that will no longer be available.

Historical data backfills of Potential Audience using the new methodology will be available.
How will the Estimated Reach calculation for Reddit.com data change in BCR?
From August 28, Estimated Reach will be calculated using the Reddit.com post’s comment count only.
The new formula will be: y = mx + A (exp (kx) - 1)
Y = Estimated Reach (output)
x = derived comment count
m = 111
A = -549,000
k = -0.00193
Historical data backfills of Estimated Reach using the new methodology will be available.
How will the Engagement Score calculation for Reddit.com change in BCR?
Engagement Score will no longer be calculated for content from Reddit as of August 28.
