Media Attachments Guide

Publish supports a wide variety of media attachments for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok. By following the file attachment guidelines for each social network, your media content will look and sound optimal on any device.

Note:

Publish will attempt to analyze image files and warn in advance if they exceed recommended sizing or ratio. However, it may not be possible to display a warning in all instances. In addition, you will not receive advanced warning for video files, GIFs, or link thumbnails.


Facebook

Images

Size:
Up to 10 MB.
Type:
JPG/JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF.

Note:

Static image GIFs are supported, but animated GIFs are not.

Videos

Size:
Up to 10 GB.
Type:
3G2, 3GP, 3GPP, ASF, AVI, DAT, DIVX, DV, F4V, FLV, GIF, M2TS, M4V, MKV, MOD, MOV, MP4, MPE, MPEG, MPEG4, MPG, MTS, NSV, OGM, OGV, QT, TOD, TS, VOB, WMV.
Duration:
Up to 4 hours.
Aspect ratio (W / H):
9:16 to 16:9 (0.56 to 1.77).
Audio codec:
AAC.
Audio bitrate:
Up to 256 kbps.
Audio sample rate:
48 kHz.
Audio channel layout:
Stereo or mono.

Video thumbnails

Size:
Up to 10 MB.
Type:
JPG/JPEG, PNG.
Resolution:
Same as video resolution.

Social Media Management automatically extracts 10 frames from across your video. You can set any of these as the video thumbnail.


Instagram

Images

Up to 8 MB.
Type:
JPG/JPEG.
Resolution:
320 to 1440 pixels wide.
Aspect ratio (W / H):
4:5 to 1.91:1 (0.8 to 1.91).
Color profile:
sRGB.

Videos

Type:
MOV, MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14).
Resolution:
Up to 1920 pixels wide.
Frame rate:
23 to 60 fps.
Audio codec:
AAC.
Audio bitrate:
Up to 128 kbps.
Video bitrate:
VBR, up to 5 Mbps.
Audio sample rate:
Up to 48 KHz.

Stereo or mono.

Reel or single video post

Size:
Up to 1 GB.
Duration:
3 seconds to 15 minutes.
Aspect ratio (W / H):
1:100 to 10:1 (0.01 to 10).
Video codec:
HEVC, H.264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.

Carousel post or story

Size:
Up to 100 MB.
Duration:
3 to 60 seconds.
Aspect ratio (W / H):
4:5 to 1.91:1 (0.8 to 1.91).
Video codec:
HEVC, H.264.

Up to 1920x1920.

Up to 30 fps.

H.264 or VP8.

TikTok

3 seconds to 10 minutes.

360x360 and up.
Frame rate:
23 to 60 fps.

Note:

Social Media Management does not have restrictions to files you upload to the Content Pool. Once you use the media for a specific channel, Social Media Management checks for compatibility with that network’s requirements. The only limitation is that the maximum accepted file size when creating stock is 1 GB per video and 25 MB per image.
