Applying Dashboard-Level Filters in Measure

For convenience, you have the option to apply filters globally to supported content widgets and Engage widgets in your dashboard. This function saves you time so you won’t have to manually repeat your filter selections along multiple content widgets. 

In this article, learn how to apply dashboard-level filters to your dashboards and which widgets support dashboard-level filters. 


Widgets that support dashboard-level filtering

At this time, the following widgets can be filtered on the dashboard level: 

  • Labels filter: Supports dashboard-level filtering for the Engage and Content widgets.
  • Type filter: Supports dashboard-level filtering for Content widgets.
  • Placement filter: Supports dashboard-level filtering for Content widgets.
  • Promotion status filter: Supports dashboard-level filtering for Content widgets.
  • Visibility filter: Supports dashboard-level filtering for Content widgets.
  • Ad account filter: Supports dashboard-level filtering for Content widgets.
  • Meta ad platform filter: Supports dashboard-level filtering for Content widgets. 

Note:

Dashboard-level filtering is not supported for Channel widgets. 


Using dashboard-level filters

To apply filters on the dashboard level: 

  1. Visit any Content or Label Performance dashboard, or any dashboard containing a Content or Label Performance widget. Click the ellipsis (three dots) icon in the top-right corner of your dashboard, then click Edit.Edit dashboard button.png
  2. Click Filter in the top-left corner of your dashboard. The Filter menu will expand to show the available filtering options and what widgets they are applicable towards. Select a filter option to proceed.

    Note:

    If filters are not supported for the specific channels you have added to your dashboard, the filter options will be disabled.

  3. The Dashboard Filters menu will open to allow you to customize your dashboard filters. Customize your filter options and click Add a new dashboard filter to apply additional filters on the dashboard level. When you have applied and customized all of your filters, click Save changes.Dashboard filters menu.png
  4. You will see your filters applied to your dashboard and can confirm by checking the Filter dropdown.

    Tip:

    You can still apply or update filters at the widget level, even if you applied them from the dashboard level. Widgets will display a Dashboard filter badge to indicate which filters are inherited from the dashboard. Within a widget’s filters, you can click Reset to dashboard filters at any time to reset them.
