Product Updates | March 2025

Have a look at the latest product updates we released in March 2025.

Listen

Public Instagram Data

You now have access to posts from a pool of ~720k non-owned Instagram accounts across multiple industries without having to authenticate and set up tracking! The Instagram Public data source will be included for every newly created/edited query.

Currently this data source is available for Saved search only.

Please note: Public Instagram data does not include posts from hashtag tracking. It is strongly recommended that you continue to set up own hashtag and non-owned account tracking to ensure the best possible Instagram coverage.

Instagram is a visual platform with heavily engaged communities. Public data helps you identify these and the content that is shaping your industry, giving you multiple advantages for creating a winning social media strategy.

What this enables:

  • Combine social media analytics with other key business metrics inside Looker.
  • Easily share Looker reports on social media performance with external stakeholders.
  • Content and Channel metrics to be represented in Looker

Improved Targeting & Restrictions for Facebook Posts

We’ve improved and expanded the feed targeting and geo-gating functionality for Facebook posts.

Key changes include:

  • Expanded Feed targeting options now include custom age, gender, interests, locations, and graduation year.
  • Improved the Gating functionality by adding minimum age requirements.
  • Simplifed UI, making the feature more intuitive.

These updates help organisations boost engagement, drive conversions, and ensure content reaches the right audience. For some brands, these options are essential for meeting legal and regulatory requirements, such as age restrictions or data privacy laws.

Engage

Feed Sharing

Admins and team leads can now share Engage feeds with their colleagues. Receivers of a feed can monitor and respond to the messages, just like the sender, but they cannot edit or delete the feed. Additionally, you can now pin feeds in the menu sidebar and collapse for a simpler view.

The ability to share feeds enables admins/team leads to introduce and maintain consistent workflows across teams and team members, as well as adding a collaborative element to feed monitoring.

Sentiment Detection for TikTok Content

You can now see sentiment on new and historical TikTok data in Engage.

Sentiment helps you understand how your audience feels about your brand and content, enabling you to finetune your social media approach.

Advertise

Update to LinkedIn Reach

Advertise now supports for Reach and Cost Per “1000 Accounts Reached” as metrics when analyzing LinkedIn Campaign Groups, Campaigns, and Ads.

This update helps you track the performance of LinkedIn efforts more effectively.

Benchmark

Consistent Engagement Breakdown in Content Feed

We have aligned the way we display engagements per post in the Content feed.

Key changes include:

  • Facebook posts now show the total number of reactions of different kinds under the post.
  • X posts now show the total number of reposts, combining reposts and quotes.
  • For both you will be able to hover over the number to see a breakdown for each type.
  • The breakdown is available in both cards and list view.

This update makes the data in the Content feed consistent across all networks, with all engagements being displayed under the post. This improves your analysis by breaking down and clarifying what the total number of engagements consists of under each post.

Custom Engagement Score in Content Feed

Custom Engagement formulas are now reflected in the Content Feed as well. All widget headers where Engagement is customized will display an asterisk and a tooltip to highlight the customization and the details of the changes.

The custom engagement formulas are now also supported on the public API.

This update aligns the custom Engagement metric with the rest of Benchmark dashboards, improving your analysis and reporting.

Influence

Brand Safety

Brands need to assess potential risks prior to working with influencers. The new "Brand Safety" feature is included in each influencer’s report, and displays a table with categorized risk assessments. The risk categories are customizable, and you can create your own from scratch as well, by setting up keywords deemed risky or relevant to your brand.

By assessing risk when exploring social profiles, you will make sure you're selecting trustable influencers who are well aligned to your values.

Key changes include:

  • Reorganized Filters: Filters have been grouped more logically based on user feedback, with fewer categories and updated UI components.
  • Filter Search Bar: A search bar added to quickly find relevant filters, saving time for users.
  • Saved Searches on the Homepage: Saved searches, previously hidden, are now easily accessible directly on the homepage.
  • Deprecation of Underused Filters: Filters like growth, partnerships, reels plays, with content information, audience source, and influencer brands have been removed to reduce clutter.

This update is aimed at improving the user experience by making searches more intuitive and efficient, as well as modernizing the interface, and simplifying filter options.
